We awarded two Our Music Grants in the last round. The next deadline is 31st January 2009. Applicants should be 23 or under and must reside within The Highland Council area. Outreach...

With the help of grants from Awards for All and the enthusiastic support of Highland Council Arts Officers and Head Teachers, the Friends take tutors and instruments into Highland schools to introduce young people to their own music, and the results are outstanding = pupils and parents are showing their eagerness to learn, and a new generation of players is being established.

The friends maintain a stock of fiddles, guitars and bodhrans for taster sessions and for hire to learners

Our Music...

The Friends' grant scheme is established to help young people in the Highlands with specific projects, such as courses, recordings and training, which will advance their knowledge and experience of Scottish music.
