Prestigious Piping Competition success for Kyle Cameron!

Young FoHM Grant recipient Kyle Cameron from Fortrose has again acheived noteworthy Piping Competition success in the Bruce Gandy Bagpiping Development Society charitable bagpiping Open Amateur Solo Bagpiping Competition which was held online last week, along with a similar Competition for professional players. Kyle achieved second place out of 82 competition participants. Given that each competitor had to play one four-part (minimum) hornpipe and two four-part (minimum) jigs, including one of the tunes composed by a Canadian-born piper and another tune composed in the 2000s, this was a considerable achievement. The third tune, in either idiom, had no author or date stipulations.

Friends of Highland Music pass on our Congratulations to Kyle, and wish him all the best with his ongoing piping training. Below is a Link to an article giving further information on the Competition.
